Neighborhood Stage Carolinas offers reviews to community, semi-professional, and youth theater companies across the Carolinas. Here's what to know before you request one.

We'll check our availability and let you know whether we're able to cover your show.
If confirmed, our reviewer attends opening weekend, and the review is published usually by the following Wednesday, leaving time to get it out there before your second weekend.
Run length: Your show must be running for at least two full weekends.
Timing: Reviews take place on opening weekend. If your run is longer than two weekends, we still aim to review on opening weekend whenever possible. This timing matters — it means your review comes out while you still have performances left, so it can actually help drive ticket sales rather than arrive after your run has ended.
Location: Right now, we're focusing on productions within about a one-hour drive of Winston-Salem, with occasional exceptions. Our goal is to grow this program to reach theater companies throughout the Carolinas.
Complimentary tickets: Please be prepared to furnish up to four tickets for our reviewer(s) to use.
Photos and logos (optional): If you can share production photos and your company logo, that helps us put together a stronger review — but it's not required to participate.
Requesting a review DOES NOT GUARANTEE a positive one.
That said, our goal is to support and celebrate the local theater community. On the occasions where a review is more critical, we aim to make it constructive — pointing out what's working alongside honest, thoughtful feedback — rather than simply negative.
