Menu Details for Skipper Canteen Revealed!
One of the early announcements at D23 was the name of the restaurant currently under construction in the Adventureland section of the Magic Kingdom in the Walt Disney World resort in Orlando. The new restaurant will be called the “Jungle Navigation Co., Ltd. Skipper Canteen”. The restaurant will contain several specially themed rooms including a crew mess hall and one room that it appears will harken back to the now defunct Adventure’s Club.
It will serve jungle cuisine which is expected to be a blend of Asian, African and South American foods. Among the specialty foods expected to be available is a slate of dishes based on the rivers guests sail on during the Jungle Cruise attraction. Dishes include the Irrawaddy Coddy, King MeKong Catfish, Perch that is in da Nile, trunked Congo Elephant Fish, and Amazon Prime Piranha.
The Skipper’s Canteen will be opening later this year….assuming Gilligan doesn’t foul things up again.
