WestJet’s New Frozen-Themed Plane to Have Limited Use

The airline WestJet recently released a video showing one of their 737s being transformed into a Frozen-theme plane.  The exterior shows Olaf sunning on the beach by the sea near the nose of the plane. That fades into ice blue and snowflakes as we approach the tail of the plane which features Anna and Elsa.

Inside the plane the same pattern is followed with overhead bins and seat backs adorned with sun flowers toward the front, fall colors in the middle and icy motifs toward the rear.

This is WestJet’s second Disney painted plane. There first one, Magic Plane, featured Mickey from The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.

However, the Frozen-themed plane will see much less use than the Magic Plane as it can only be operated in warmer clients during the summer months.  This is due to the newly themed plane being highly difficult to de-ice.

New EPCOT Solar Farm to Have “Frozen” Theme?

Work has begun on a new solar farm near EPCOT. The nearly 20 acre facility will be filled with solar panels and will be located near the intersection of World Drive and EPCOT Center Drive, just a stone’s throw from the EPCOT parking lot. Though we don’t recommend throwing stones at solar panels.

To allow the farm to blend in the panels will be arranged in a “Disney-inspired” design. While there is no indication as to what that design will be, some fans have speculated that Olaf would be a fun, yet highly ironic choice.

The solar farm is a partnership between the Reedy Creek Improvement District and Duke Energy.  When it is fully operational it is expected to provide nearly 5-megawatts of electricity!  Well, except between 2 and 5 pm on most summer days.

Stitch to Toilet Paper Cinderella’s Castle Once Again!

Long time park fans probably remember that on November 16th of 2004,  fans arriving at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World were greeted with the shocking sight of Cinderella’s Castle festooned with….well…toilet paper. As it turned out, it was not a belated mischief night prank, but one perpetrated by none other than Experiment 626, aka “Stitch”.  His misdeeds were to celebrate the opening of Stitch’s Great Escape and immersive attraction in the Tomorrowland section of the Magic Kingdom.

While the vandalism lasted only a day, the attraction is approaching 11 years old, 10 years older than it should be if you ask some fans.  And rumor has it that Disney plans to roll out the white carpet as it were and celebrate that birthday by once again letting Stitch TP the castle.  In fact, some cast members have already reported that industrial sized rolls of custom made, 200-ply toilet paper have been seen in a backstage warehouse.

But before your inner miscreant gets all giddy at the site of seeing such an alien encounter, our sources in Theme Park Operations tell us that logistics may wipe the celebration from the calendar, as an intense disagreement has broken out as to whether the paper should be spun off from over or under the roll.
